چکیده
Antibiotics are considered as a cornerstone of modern medicine and their discovery offers the resolution to infectious diseases problem. However, excessive use antibiotics worldwide has generated critical public health issue bacterial resistance correlated with inefficiency is still unsolved. Finding novel therapeutic approaches overcome imperative, natural compounds antibacterial effects could be promising option. The role played by in tumorigenesis interrelation microbiota debatable far from being elucidated. Thus, present manuscript global perspective on terms evolution historical an emphasis main classes adverse effects. It also highlights connection between microbiota, focusing dual tumorigenesis. In addition, using properties potential alternatives for classical antibiotic therapy discussed.

The extensive biochemical research of multiple types of cancer has revealed important enzymatic signaling pathways responsible for tumor occurrence and progression, thus compelling the need for the discovery of new means with which to block these signaling cascades. The phosphoinositide 3-kinase/ protein kinase B (PI3K/AKT) pathway, which plays an important role in maintaining relevant cellular...

The probable antipyretic, antiinflammatory, analgesic and antioxidant properties of Kageneckia oblonga, Rosaceae, were investigated and the major compounds of its active extracts were isolated. The study comprised the acute toxicity of the extracts of global methanol, hexane, dichloromethane and methanol. The cytotoxicity of global methanol extract was studied in three tumoral cell lines. All t...
متن کاملFast Screening of Antibacterial Compounds from Fusaria
Bio-guided screening is an important method to identify bioactive compounds from fungi. In this study we applied a fast digital time-lapse microscopic method for assessment of the antibacterial properties of secondary metabolites from the fungal genus Fusarium. Here antibacterial effects could be detected for antibiotic Y, aurofusarin, beauvericin, enniatins and fusaric acid after six hours of ...
متن کاملBacteriophage therapy: an alternative to conventional antibiotics.
Bacteriophage therapy is an important alternative to antibiotics in the current era of multidrug resistant pathogens. We reviewed the studies that dealt with the therapeutic use of phages from 1966-1996 and few latest ongoing phage therapy projects via internet. Phages were used topically, orally or systemically in Polish and Soviet studies. The success rate found in these studies was 80-95% wi...
متن کاملDeveloping New Antimicrobial Therapies: Are Synergistic Combinations of Plant Extracts/Compounds with Conventional Antibiotics the Solution?
The discovery of penicillin nearly 90 years ago revolutionized the treatment of bacterial disease. Since that time, numerous other antibiotics have been discovered from bacteria and fungi, or developed by chemical synthesis and have become effective chemotherapeutic options. However, the misuse of antibiotics has lessened the efficacy of many commonly used antibiotics. The emergence of resistan...
